"irony" of choosing the type of therapy/philosophy that you think would "fit you best" is that the most effective one is likely the one that requires the largest perspective change (but would seem too radical at first glance)
ie. philosophy X suggests "let go of your desires for external validation"; but an individual believes "no! I desperately want this external validation, give me some alternative philosophy" (when in fact, that desire is exactly the source of most of that person's suffering)
in practise, there is likely a "trickle-truthing" / "shifting individual Overton window" of beliefs/practices
