- if the polls indicate a clear lead, the opposing side changes its strategy
- the "stable" solution is "polls are very close"
but, is it what we want?
- first-past-the-post tends towards two parties, that go extreme
  - identity politics
  - ~schismogenesis
parties and politicians are doing exactly what the system incentivizes them to do
- if we want real change, we probably want to change the system, the incentives
