iterations on my "snowball" analogy for change-making-in-a-complex-system
- between "here" and "there" is a terrain
  - can think of as map with contour lines
  - so path won't be straight
  - BUT... we can't see the terrain
- FURTHERMORE, we don't know exactly where we are (on the map)
  - plus, where we are is moving
  - the target, because it takes time to get there, is also moving
    - (b/c, in truth, our target is more of a "delta to current state" than a full definition of a different state)
      - ie. we think: "want current world, but with people using technology X to solve Y" (other things are allowed to change)
- there's some analogy to high-dimensional-vectors here
- also, analogy to "searching for a person drifting at SEA"
