🤔 work ethic

someone has a "good work ethic"
- I would parse that as "works hard" / "willing to work hard" (and or something re: habits)
I never really noticed the word "ethic" in there
- or at least, the "ethic" in "work ethic" didn't seem to have anything to do with "ethics"
BUT
- could just see it as:
  - someone with a "good" work "ethic"
    - ie. someone who's ethics/values prioritize "work for the sake of work"
      - (and thus, they "work hard")
