🤔 mental subprocesses
- psychadelics have effects on some "subprocesses" of our mind, likely suggesting there are indepedent sub parts responsible for:
- time perception
- performing some activity, and losing the ability to tell if 30 seconds or 1 hour has passed
- importance / significance signaling
- having a thought, and a "misfiring" importance signal, making one think that the though was valuable (but realizing how mundane it was when sober)
- truth signaling
- (likely related to importance / significance signal)
- can experience something, and have "misfiring" part of brain signal that it is "true", and so, continue believing it as such
- this likely leads to some people's significant "religious experiences" (or new non-mainstream metaphysical insights)
- (if you are made to subconsciously believe something is true, it's difficult to "unwire" that belief)
- the above "misfires" can happen on a day-to-day (sans drugs), at a lesser magnitude
- but may also have a wide range of sensitivity between people
- (~ we are all neuro-divergent, but some more than others)
- ...and be consituent of certain DSM "disorders"
