🤔 remarkable
- first thoughts
- the tablet
- pleased so far
- the back could have been made prettier
- "book folio"
- disappointed, for the price
- feels like cardboard
- mediocre for day-to-day use, because the cover doesn't fold back easily
- on the site it says "you can fold the cover all the way around..."
- but, it feels like it will break eventually
- UPDATE
- after some "breaking in", it's fine
- though, some concern about longevity
- really only for storage and travel, to protect from scratches
- doesn't have a dedicated pen spot
- doubt the magnet is strong enough to keep the pen in place in a bag
- UPDATE
- 1 month in
- I have read more long-form content in the last month than in the last 2 years combined
- it's given me a path to breaking my HN/Reddit/YT/News habit (by replacing the triggered desire with "continue reading something on the remarkable")
- share screen to mac + share in a video call is awesome
- (I used to use a wacom non-screen tablet + krita for that)
- large ebooks are VERY slow to load initially
- writing is nice
- wishlist
- split-screen mode for reading pdf and taking notes
- Pocket support
way to zoom in to pdf to get rid of margins it exists!- infinite canvas in both directions (currently only downward)
- PDF sending that uses my own email account
