🤔 appreciating value

some people only think they're being valuable if they have tangible and measurable feedback - ex. getting paid
- and thus, they optimize around it
- and, have strategies like "commit 100%"
- they couldn't bear something like "non-profits" or hedging impact, or indirect impact (snowball nudge, cascading long term impact)
  - or traditionally unpaid work, like child care
- $ in particular...
  - only a lower bound on value delivered
  - but, also, can capture a lot, and nullify any net value creation
    - ie. net value created = value delivered - value captured
    - making more, might mean capturing more, which doesn't really increase the net benefit
    - tying "impact perception" to $, thus could lead to value-capture optimization rather than value-creation optimization
  - value-delivered is "theoretical", invisible, non-tangible
